Copper Axe

by Formation Ritual

/

about

Inspired by Ötzi the iceman, whose mummified body was found preserved in ice in the Alps. This song follows him on a journey to ritual sites when he encounters a violent band of strangers.

lyrics

Rests atop the highest peak
Lost track of the many years
Still attached at the drifter’s side
The copper axe remains intact

Made his way through mountains steep
To sacred sites, he traveled far
Met violent bands along the path
Attacked the stranger in their lands

What remains of a life now gone
Lies still in the quiet dawn
There comes a time when you just can’t carry on

At day’s end they found him weak
Made fatal wound through flesh and bone
The drifter and the copper axe
Now in the ice remain intact
